HOW TO...
Wash your Blended Fabrics
1
Read the Care Label
The first step in washing any blended fabric is to read its care label. There, you will find the fabric composition, such as 100% cotton or 65% polyester, 35% cotton.
💡 Tip: Once you know the fabric composition, you can determine the best care method.
2
Follow the 70% Rule
Follow the care instructions for the fabric that makes up the largest percentage of the blend. If the composition is 70% cotton + 30% polyester, follow the care instructions for cotton.
💡 Exception: If the fabric contains even a small amount of silk or wool, always follow the care instructions for those materials.
3
Special Rules for Delicate Fabrics
Silk, wool, and cashmere require extra care. Even if they make up a small percentage of the fabric blend, always follow the care instructions specific to these materials.
💡 Example: 90% linen + 10% silk → care for it as silk.
| Fabric | Temperature | Wash Cycle | Drying | Ironing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton | 30–60°C | Regular | Tumble Dry or Air Dry | High Heat |
| Polyester | 30°C | Delicate | Air Dry | Low Heat |
| Silk | Cold | Hand Wash | Lay Flat to Air Dry | Low Heat / Steam |
| Wool / Cashmere | 30°C | Wool / Delicate | Lay Flat to Air Dry | Steam Only |
| Linen | 40°C | Regular | Air Dry | High Heat (While Damp) |

Wash Denim
1
Pre-Treat Stains
Treat stains before washing using a Stain Remover or a Wash & Stain Bar. Pay special attention to high-wear areas such as cuffs, hems, and pocket edges.
💡 Tip: For stubborn odors, soak the garment in cold water with ¼ cup of white vinegar for 30 minutes before washing.
2
Prepare for Washing
Turn your jeans inside out to protect the color and reduce fading. Fasten zippers and buttons before placing them in the washing machine. Choose a regular wash cycle unless the care label recommends otherwise.
💡 Tip: Wash dark denim in cold water. For white or very light denim, warm water may be used along with a detergent designed for whites.
3
Drying
Air drying is the best option for preserving both the shape and color of your jeans. Avoid tumble drying dark denim whenever possible, as high heat can cause shrinkage and fading.
💡 Tip: Do not wring jeans aggressively. Hang them up immediately after washing to help prevent wrinkles and maintain their fit.
HOW TO...
Wash your Sheets & Duvets
1
Washing Frequency
Wash your bed sheets every 1–2 weeks to maintain freshness and hygiene. Duvets and pillows should be washed every 2–3 months, or according to the manufacturer's care instructions.
💡 Tip: Sheets absorb sweat, body oils, and dust mites over time, so washing them at 60°C helps ensure proper sanitization.
2
Choose the Right Temperature & Cycle
For cotton sheets, wash at 60°C for effective cleaning and sanitization. Microfiber bedding should be washed at 30–40°C on a delicate cycle. For duvets, always check the care label and follow the recommended washing instructions.
💡 Tip: Use My Laundry Room's Bio Fabric Conditioner to keep bedding soft, fresh, and comfortable after every wash.
3
Drying & Storage
Hang bedding immediately after washing to prevent wrinkles and musty odors. Duvets require plenty of space to dry properly, and high dryer temperatures should be avoided to protect the filling and fabric.
💡 Tip: Store clean sheets and bedding in a cool, well-ventilated area away from moisture to maintain freshness and prevent mildew.
| Item | Temperature | Wash Cycle | Drying | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton Bed Sheets | 60°C | Regular | Air Dry or Tumble Dry | Sanitize at 60°C |
| Microfiber | 30–40°C | Delicate | Air Dry | Avoid High Heat |
| Satin / Silk | Cold | Hand Wash | Lay Flat to Air Dry | Handle with Extra Care |
| Duvets (Cotton) | 40–60°C | Regular | Low Heat Tumble Dry | Use a Large Washer (8kg+) |
| Duvets (Feather/Down) | 30°C | Delicate | Low Heat Tumble Dry | Add Tennis Balls to Restore Loft |
HOW TO...
Wash your Towels
1
Wash for Maximum Softness
Wash your towels every 3–4 uses at 40–60°C. Avoid overloading the washing machine, as towels need enough space to rinse thoroughly and maintain their softness.
💡 Tip: Use less detergent than you think you need. Excess detergent can leave residue that stiffens towel fibers over time.
2
Fabric Softener & Sanitizing
Use a quality fabric conditioner to keep towels soft and comfortable. Every 4–6 washes, run a 60°C wash cycle without fabric softener to ensure proper sanitization and remove any buildup from detergents and softeners.
💡 Tip: Half a cup of white vinegar can be used instead of fabric softener. It helps remove residue and naturally restores softness.
3
Drying for a Soft Feel
Shake towels well before hanging them to dry. If you use a tumble dryer, select a low-heat setting and add a couple of tennis balls to help fluff the fibers and keep towels soft.
💡 Tip: Avoid leaving towels in direct sunlight for long periods, as prolonged exposure can weaken fibers and make towels feel rougher over time.
Temperature
40–60°C for cotton. 30°C for microfiber.
CottonDetergent
Use less than usual. Avoid detergent residue buildup.
CautionFluffiness
Shake before hanging to dry. Use tennis balls in the dryer.

Have Questions?
Can I use more detergent for better cleaning?
No — always follow the dosage instructions on the detergent packaging. Using too much detergent can leave residue on both your clothes and your washing machine.
How much empty space should I leave in the drum?
Always leave enough room to fit an open hand above the laundry. This ensures better cleaning performance and proper weight distribution.
Can I wash wool garments in the washing machine?
Check the care label first. If machine washing is allowed, use the Wool program and avoid high spin speeds.
Should large items such as sheets and curtains be folded or left open in the washing machine?
Large items should always be placed in the drum unfolded and spread out. This allows them to wash more effectively and helps distribute the weight evenly during the cycle.
Should I leave the washing machine door open after a wash?
Yes! Leave the door open for 1–2 hours after each cycle to allow the drum to dry and help prevent unpleasant odors.
How do I clean the inside of my washing machine?
Add 150g of baking soda, run an empty cycle at 60–90°C, and repeat every 4 months to keep your machine fresh and clean.
How often should I clean the filter?
Clean your washing machine filter every 6 months to maintain optimal performance and extend the lifespan of the appliance.
